Daniel Thwaites is a Lancashire Brewer and Pub Retailer based in Blackburn, proud of its heritage and tradition, which has adapted, modernised and progressed over two centuries to now be one of the UK’s Top 10 Brewers.
With an estate of over 400 pubs stretching from Carlisle to Birmingham and North Wales to York and Sheffield, Daniel Thwaites is now the leading Brewer from the North of England.
Daniel Thwaites is also a major sponsor of sport in the North of England, and invests over £1m per year both at the local grass roots level and also in First Class Cricket and professional Football.
Thwaites Lancaster Bomber is proud to be a club sponsor at Lancashire County Cricket and you can also find our beers at football grounds throughout the Northwest. If it’s sport and it’s in the North, rest assured Daniel Thwaites and its beers won’t be far away.
But where did it all begin?
Back in 1807, an excise duty officer from Blackburn, called Daniel Thwaites, became a joint partner in the Brewery and it has now remained in his family for over five generations.
Mr John Yerburgh, our President, is a direct descendant of Daniel Thwaites himself and his forefathers’ passion for Beer Quality and Brewing expertise lives on through the family to this day.
