The Daniel Thwaites Charitable Trust is the registered charity of the brewery.
Representing Blackburn's biggest corporate employer, it works to benefit charitable institutions and organisations in and around East Lancashire with the aim of improving the conditions of life for the recipients of those organisations.
The Trust was established in 1994 and is fully-funded on an annual basis by the company from a percentage of the preceding year's profits, therefore the success of the company is reflected in the gift of the Trust.
The emphasis is placed on giving tangible, physical help, be that wheelchairs, computers, musical instruments, beds or other specialised equipment for helping improve interaction, or items such as bingo machines and televisions that improve the quality of life for groups of people.
The trust committee is made up entirely of Thwaites employees who discuss each application on its individual merits.
So if you've got faith in your cause or project, and hope to develop it further, then Daniel Thwaites have got the charity and would like to hear from you.
Application forms can be requested from Thwaites by phone, fax, post or
e-mail joanhalse@thwaites.co.uk
