Students thank Thwaites for German chance.
Two Blackburn students have arrived home after a trip-of-a-lifetime courtesy of Thwaites.
Arion Quaynor, 18, (St Wilfrid’s) and Zaria Ali, 17 (Westholme) were among a group of youngsters who travelled on the renowned Thwaites Scholarship for a two-week adventure in Germany.
They visited Berlin before travelling to Stralsund to spend a week with local families. Thwaites has funded the Travel Scholarship, run in conjunction with the Experiment In International Living, since the early ‘60s when it was first founded by brewery president John Yerburgh.
The students then attended the Thwaites’ Visitor Centre to say an official “thank-you” and put on a presentation of the trip for brewery directors.
