Originally brewed as a seasonal beer for our Bi-centenary in 2007, Wainwright was so popular that it is now available 12 months of the year!
Wainwright is a great beer to quench the thirst and has a wonderful bright, blonde colour in the glass, which appeals to both men and women alike.
The Man Himself
The beer is named after Alfred Wainwright (AW), the renowned Lakeland author who was born in Blackburn in 1907. His seven guide books to the Lakes, which have sold more than two million copies, have inspired generations of walkers to enjoy the breath-taking beauty of Lakeland and Cumbria, such is their popularity.
This wonderful blonde beer means the Blackburn link with Thwaites and Wainwright is now strengthened even further and Jane King, AW’s stepdaughter is delighted with the tie-up. “We are very pleased to think that AW will be commemorated in this way by a delicious beer from a Blackburn brewer”.
