Thwaites in Final Running for Prestigious Award

Thwaites has been named as a finalist in the highly-prized pub and brewing industry awards.

The Lancashire-based, family-run brewer has made the shortlist for the Best Tenanted/Leased Pub Company (200 plus sites) category in the 2012 Publican awards.

Thwaites beat off competition from what the judges describe as an “unprecedented number of quality award entries” to become one of three companies in the final shortlist. Thwaites will now have to undergo an inspection by the judges and attend a panel session in February which will scrutinise their business and approach. But they’ll have to wait until March 2012 to find out if they have won the top award.

The prizes will be announced at a glittering awards ceremony held at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London on March 27 2012.

Thwaites’ Commercial Director Sue Allen said: “It’s a rigorous judging process and we’re up against the industry’s best so we’re all thrilled to have made it to the final shortlist.

“It’s testament to the hard work of the licensees and the area business managers and the team spirit here at Thwaites. We’re constantly striving to hit new highs and to even make the final of these top awards is a great boost to morale.”

And she added: “Fingers crossed for rounds two and three of the judging now and for the big night of the awards!”
