Based at Mearbeck Farm, North Yorkshire, The Blue Pig Company have been supplying The Lion with free-range pork for 3 years. Their pigs are outdoor reared from birth and the company truly believes that happy pigs make tastier meat.
Based at the top of Sutton Bank high on the North Yorkshire Moors National Park, Taste Tradition rear traditional breed pigs alongside rare breed cattle and sheep. Their selection of rare breeds and traditional farming methods allows them to create outstanding and exquisite tasting meat, which The Lion has been using it in its recipes for 3 years.
Another one of our trusted suppliers is Paganums. Paganums rear traditional and rare breeds, which are able to thrive in the outdoor life of the Yorkshire Dales. The company uses a range of traditional farming techniques to produce meat with a fuller flavour.
KILNSEYS PARK TROUT FARM
Kilnseys Park is a working trout farm and has been supplying The Lion with a fantastic range of trout for the past 2 years. Their fish are reared in spring fed lakes where Rainbow, Blue, Brown and Golden trout are abundant.

Officially one of Britain’s best butchers, we are very proud to have recently formed a partnership with Drake & Macefied who are able to supply The Lion with a range of award winning meats. Based just a stones throw away from our Inn means we don’t have far to go to source fantastic meats for our tasty dishes.
