Horse and beer lovers alike will have the chance to see the famous Thwaites Shire Horses at the National Winter Ales Festival at The Venue, Manchester, when they attend the opening of the event.

Visitors will have the opportunity to see the award-winning dray horses, Bomber and Daniel at the event on Wednesday 18th January at 2.30pm.

There will also be the chance to sample a range of Thwaites seasonal cask ales including the strong but mellow winter warmer, Old Dan and new to the festival, Tavern Porter, a dark porter with subtle notes of smokiness and liquorice.

Lee Williams, brands manager at Thwaites said: “We’re delighted to be supporting the Winter Ales Festival with the horses and by offering visitors the chance to try some of our seasonal favourites. I would encourage ale lovers, old and new to drop in and try the wide range of drinks on offer.”

The National Winter Ales Festival is organised by CAMRA and allows visitors to sample a selection of over 300 British and international beers, real ale in a bottle, ciders and perries. Food is available all day and includes a fixed-price buffet with English and Indian dishes. The event runs from Wednesday 18th to Saturday 21st January.
