Paul Woodward, Head Chef
Paul’s passion for food began at the age of 15 when he first dreamt of becoming a chef. After finishing school, Paul started and progressed his career as a chef with various De Vere and Marriott Hotels throughout England, before becoming head chef at Thorpe Park Hotel in 2007.
Paul enjoys being part of a family company and helps create the menus throughout the company alongside his role at Thorpe Park. Paul is very customer focussed and understands the importance the role he and his team play in our customers’ experience.
Steve Gleed, Senior Sous Chef
Steve started his career as a chef after leaving school with many qualifications (so he says!) He continued his education at college whilst gaining experience in local kitchens. After a spell in the Peak District, Steve relocated to Yorkshire and joined Marriott Hotels before following this great friend, chef and mentor to Thorpe Park Hotel. Steve enjoys working in our 4 star hotel environment is a vital asset to the team at Thorpe Park.
Zoe Yeoh, Food & Beverage Manager
Zoe started at Thorpe Park Hotel & Spa in 2005 as a Food Service Assistant and has grown her career over the years to become Food and Beverage Services Manager in 2012. Zoe studied Hotel and Catering Management in Penang, Malaysia and a BA (Hons) degree in Managing International Hospitality at Leeds Metropolitan University in 2006. Zoe is a true example or how your career can progress within a family company like Thwaites; she rose up through the ranks while completing our Food and Drink Academy. Zoe now manages a team of 50 and her individual customer services skills which are second to none are reflected in the amount of lovely comments we receive from customers about Zoe and her team.
In her spare time (if she has any) she enjoys baking her speciality coconut tarts- they are amazing, and keeps fit by running and cycling.
Gemma Ingle, Assistant Food and Drink Services Manager
Gemma has been with us since the start and was part of the opening team in the restaurant in 2002. She joined us as a Food Service Assistant when she was 16 and little (and still is – in terms of height!). Gemma then progressed to Food Service Supervisor in 2007 and onwards to Assistant Beverage Service Manager in 2013. Gemma is now responsible for the stock ordering and delivery and the training and development of her team. Gemma is a consistent member of the team and has a great loyalty to the hotel.
Outside of work, Gemma’s family train dogs for the blind and she has a love for dog walking. Gemma loves the outdoors and likes spending time with her family and friends at Centre Parcs.
