What is your cancellation policy?
As long as you cancel your booking before 10am on the day before you’re due to arrive, there will be no charge. Bookings cancelled after 10:00am on the day before you’re due to arrive will be charged for the first night’s stay. No Shows will be charged for the first night’s stay.
What is the Advance Purchase Cancellation policy?
Your credit or debit card will have been charged at the time of booking, and this is a non-refundable, non-transferable amount. Should you need to cancel there will be no refund applicable.
Yes Character Rooms. £25.00 additional charge per night. All our rooms are very individual and offer the same home comforts throughout – but a couple of them have wonderful beams and some extra special views over the village green and will be just the inspiration you need to jump out of bed in a morning. Just let us know if you’d like to book one of these when you make your reservation.
Do you hold rooms provisionally?
No we take a credit card to guarantee reservations and our cancellation policy then applies.

What is offered in the guest rooms?
You will find a fully stock tea tray in your room - we’re happy to replenish your flask of fresh milk at any time –
just ask at the bar. As well as an en-suite bathroom with bath and/or shower, complimentary toiletries.
Do you have a room with a bath?
Yes - but not all our rooms have a bath so please specify at the time of booking if this is important to you.
Do you have travel cots/Z-beds available? Do you charge for it?
Yes, we have a limited supply and there is no charge.

Wifi is now available in all rooms and all public areas
Is car parking available?
There is a large car park just 4 minutes’ walk away – The Waterloo car park (sat nav GL7 2PZ). If you have luggage by all means pull up at the front of the Fleece and unload before you head round to Waterloo Road. The Waterloo car parking is free from 6pm to 8am each morning (Mon to Sat and free on a Sunday).
Can you provide directions to the inn?
Approaching M4 (Jn 15) – Swindon or M5 (Jn 11A) – Gloucester – Turn off the A417 at the Burford Road junction signposted Cirencester Town Centre. (If approaching from Swindon, the A419 becomes the A417 just before you get to Cirencester. Do not take the A419 turnoff signpost for Cirencester Industrial Area). From Burford Road Junction, follow the Town Centre signs until you reach the traffic lights at the end of London Road. Turn right at the traffic lights into the road named The Waterloo, where you will find the Waterloo Car Park. Approaching from M4 (Jn 17) – Malmesbury, M4 (Jn 18) – Tetbury or M5 (Jn 13) – Stroud. Approaching Cirencester on the A433, at the first roundabout – opposite Waitrose – take the 2nd exit for Swindon. At the second roundabout continue following the sign for Swindon. At the third roundabout turn left following the sign for Town Centre. At the fourth roundabout turn left following the sign for Town Centre – this is London Road.
Turn right at the traffic lights into the road named The Waterloo, where you will find the Waterloo Car Park.
Are pets allowed?
Yes – We do charge £15 per stay for your dog to join you in your room; this is so we can give the room the extra special attention needed afterwards to ensure is pristine for the next arrivals. 10% of this charge is donated to the Teckels Animal Rescue Centre.
Are dogs allowed in the bar?
We love to welcome well-behaved owners and their dogs to the inn, but please be aware that not everyone loves your dog as much as you do. To help us keep happy customers of both 2 and 4 legged varieties please observe our simple requests:
- Dogs are allowed in the bar area, but not in the dining only areas
- Please don’t let your dog jump or pester other guests, or their pets or disturb others by barking
- Make sure your dog is clean and dry before they come in to the inn
Is there disabled access?
No – Unfortunately due to the historic nature of The Fleece building we are unable to offer bedrooms located on the ground floor.
Do you have cycle storage/drying room
Cycles can be stored in boiler house if needed.
Do you serve breakfast?
Breakfast is served from 7.00am to 9.30am Monday-Friday and 8.00am to 10.00am Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holidays.
What are the food & drink serving times?
Food is served from 7.00am in the morning right through until 9.30pm Monday to Saturday and until 8.30pm on Sundays.
The bar is open 11.00am to 11.00pm from Monday - Saturday. We close at 10:30 on Sundays.
Is private dining available?
Semi private area available on request.
Do you offer a wedding breakfast?
We don't have any formal areas, but we're happy to work with you on celebration in our main restaurant for smaller parties.

Known as the capital of the Cotswolds, Cirencester is a market town steeped in history; with its Roman heritage, fantastic architecture, local attractions and individual independent shops all on the Fleece’s doorstep, you definitely won’t be short of things to see and do.
