Daniel Thwaites has signed up to a partnership with Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service to strengthen the fire prevention support it can offer to its properties.
The Lancashire-based business has over 250 pubs, hotels and spas across the country and wanted to offer consistent, professional guidance on fire-related matters.
It has created a Primary Authority Scheme with the fire service so it can access a dedicated Liaison Officer from within the Fire Protection Department who can offer bespoke advice.
Matthew Schofield, Group Health and Safety Manager for Daniel Thwaites, said: “We chose Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service because we are a Lancashire company but also because they have a great reputation.
“It can be quite confusing when you are working with many different fire services as they can approach things differently, so this is a great way for us to get consistency with the professional assured advice and guidance.
“This partnership has already proved valuable with the day to day running of all our properties but is also assisting us when we are planning refurbishment projects.”
The Primary Authority Scheme is one of 11 partnerships Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service has created.
Tony Crook lead for Prevention, Protection and Road safety for Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service, said: “We are very pleased to be working with Daniel Thwaites; a true Lancashire business. The aim of the Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service’s Primary Authority Scheme is to develop effective partnerships with businesses to achieve a national consistency in delivering fire safety advice.
“We have a team of fire safety experts who are on-hand to provide advice and support to Daniel Thwaites and we look forward to working with them.”
