Hampshire spa scoops prestigious award following wellness renovation

Solent Hotel and Spa in Fareham has secured national recognition following an independent review from one of the nation’s leading spa authorities.

26th June 2025…// The hotel and spa , which is part of Thwaites, has been awarded ‘Five Bubble’ status by the Good Spa Guide.

Often referred to as the Michelin Guide of the spa industry, the Good Spa Guide’s unique ‘bubble’ rating system sets the gold standard for spas. To receive a bubble rating, dedicated spa experts thoroughly assess spas in areas including cleanliness and tidiness, standard of facilities, sustainability and treatments offered, then ranks them from three bubbles to five bubble luxury.

Following an anonymous visit from a ‘spa spy’, Solent Hotel and Spa has been awarded ‘Five Bubbles’, with the reviewer commending its ‘chilled out vibe’, ‘contemporary tones’ and ‘impressive range of treatments’ – with the newly renovated wellness space also being commended as ‘perfect for lazy days’.

In 2024, the hotel received a ‘Four Bubble’ rating from The Good Spa Guide, as well as an accreditation from the AA as a ‘Recommended Spa’. It was also named a finalist in the ‘Best Hotel Spa’ category at the Good Spa Guide Awards 2025 earlier this year.
