The Royal at Heysham wins Lancashire Tourism Award

The Royal at Heysham, a historic Lancashire inn, has won the Small Serviced Accommodation award at the Lancashire Tourism Awards.

12th February 2026…// The team were presented with the accolade at the ceremony held at Blackpool Conference and Exhibition Centre.

The award recognises businesses which deliver memorable guest experiences and demonstrate excellence across all areas of operation.

Entries were open to a wide range of small accommodation offerings like boutique hotels and B&Bs, to guest houses, inns, pubs and restaurants with rooms – it recognises those with up to 35 bedrooms.

They Royal at Heysham beat the likes of Greendale Teahouse & Rooms, Chatburn and The Lawrence, Padiham.

Will Kitchen, general manager at The Royal at Heysham, scooped up the award with his team by his side. He said: “We are a small, but mighty team here at The Royal at Heysham. Guest experience is really important to us – whether that’s a local popping in for a pint, a couple on a getaway, or a family staying with us and exploring the bay – we care about creating an unforgettable experience for anyone who comes through our door.”

The Royal at Heysham is an AA 4 Gold star 16th century inn located on the edge of Morecambe Bay.

It boasts eleven en-suite rooms and has also been awarded a Certificate of Excellence by Cask Marque, and is accredited as a destination in Trip Advisor’s Travellers Choice 2025 – placing it in the top 10 per cent worldwide.
